I haven't ever actually TRIED to use one of the Singer zig-zaggers, but the amazing Bill Holman (moderator of several Yahoo sites including Vintage Sewing machine repair, and Vintage Singers) has written several times about them. I forget if this one is machine-specific) (I also have the "Singer adjustable zigzag attachment" part 121706 which does NOT take cams. I assume that the issue was that the needlebar on the 99k and 128 (3/4 machines) has less vertical travel up and down than the full-size machines, and I assumed this limited travel was not enough to properly drive the zigzagger. As I recall, whenever I tried, the stitches came out extremely narrow, and the tension was always puckery. It does not work well at all on my 99k or 128. Indeed, it works fine on my 15-91 and 221 (and probably also on the 201). I have the very common automatic zigzagger that takes cams. Which is a pity because I wasted money getting the 4 separate cam sets. Either I can't make it work or it just is not a good attachment. So.I really want to use it on my straight stitchers.ain't happening.
